Hazing Prevention Institute Presentations

This summer I traveled to the annual Hazing Prevention Institute which was held at Ohio State University for several days. I presented with collaborators from the Penn State University Timothy J. Piazza Center for Fraternity & Sorority Research and Reform about findings from our Early Warning Signs project and some additional connections to practice from our exploration of the extant research literature.

I presented “Hazing Prevention Do’s and Don’ts with Drs. Emily Perlow (Worchester Polytechnic) and Brian Joyce (George Washington) in a featured panel as well as “Early Warning Signs of Hazing” with Drs. Dawn Maynen (Piazza Center). In these sessions we identify the ways in which professionals identify hazing for early intervention and what current programming disrupts cultural patterns of hazing on campus.
