#ChangeHigherEd #HireHigherEd Panel Session
Today I had the pleasure of serving on a panel that explores the experiences and ways faculty candidates navigate search committees for their job search. We discussed “horror stories,” identified the problem, and provided some tangible actions to disrupt the system. I have served on over 12 searches for contingent and tenure-track positions in over nine years as a faculty member in higher education. I am often surprised by the systems of marginality that continue to subjugate candidates to administrative violence and medieval approaches. See my perspectives as well as those of other faculty within the academic/higher education industry.
The panel is for the series #ChangeHigherEd facilitated by Eric Stephens. You can view the recording here.
