Offering Voice in New Titles in IPHESA Series
I am excited to announce a number of new titles for my co-edited series with Dr. Shelley Price-Williams (Northern Iowa) Identity & Practice in Higher-Education with Information Age Publishing. These new titles all will feature an equity focus and will cover issues including identity experiences of Muslim college women, women’s mentorship, ableism in graduate in education, student development among the Black student movements, culturally sensitive supervision, multiracial college men and masculinity, Latino college men and masculinity with a focus on mental health, as well as religion and spirituality across functional areas in student affairs. This text on faith and spirituality in student affairs will be a 2 volume series which will cover all functional areas. This expansive text will certainly challenge us to further consider how to integrate spirituality into our daily practices to facilitate student development and learning.
There is a mix of senior and emerging scholars across higher education and college counseling. I am particularly excited to be able to offer space to new faculty and continuing scholars to advance areas of scholarship focused to further critically interrogate systems of oppression which marginalizes many student communities of color. I am most proud that this series is advancing areas of scholarship related to intersectional identities among men and masculinities and college women. The texts on women addressing mentorship and American Muslim women will be the progenitor texts in which they will develop a large scholarly footprint and become foundational, seminal scholarly resources. Also, the text on ableism will be the first to explore how (dis)ability impacts graduate students. Additional titles will also be announced over the next coming months, so continue to check this space for future exciting briefs about them!
