Research Sponsored by Association for Student Conduct Administrators (ASCA) and Piazza Center
I am super excited to begin data collection this summer and through the fall semester to identify a typology of conduct investigations about undergraduate student organizations. This will be a grounded theory study and will include focus groups and individual interviews to better understand how student organizations are held accountable and how conduct offices facilitate their investigations. This phenomenon is not well understood in higher education in which there is little known about the various approaches and formats to student organization accountability. This research is sponsored by a generous grant from the Association of Student Conduct Administrators (ASCA) and directed by the Penn State UniversityTimothy J. Piazza Center for Fraternity & Sorority Research & Reform. This study will advance the understanding of the distinct philosophies, policies and practices that are used when determining student organizational accountability.
